The University offers a Doctor of Philosophy program to applicants who wish to undertake original and significant research in an approved area. To qualify for the award, candidates will be required to submit a thesis embodying the results of their research.

For students holding a relevant Masters degree by research, the minimum time to submission is two years full-time.
To qualify for candidature applicants shall have either qualified for the award of a Masters degree by research at an acceptable level or an appropriate Bachelor degree with class 1 or class 2 (1) honours from an Australian University, taken over a minimum of four years (full-time equivalent), or an award accepted by the Board of Graduate Studies as equivalent, and/or have demonstrated in study and/or professional performance potential to undertake research at a Doctoral level.
