The aim of the course is to prepare students for managerial and specialist roles in the industrial relations field within the private, public and trade union sections. This course allows students to view Australian industrial relations within an international context as well as providing an insight into the workings of the Australian labour market.

This course is accredited by the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).
Applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution or a qualification deemed to be equivalent. Applicants with other academic and/or professional qualifications and/or work experience acceptable to the University will be considered.
Credit of up to four subjects of the eight subject course may be given to a student who has completed equivalent study at Masters, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma level at a recognised tertiary institution.
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete eight (8) credit point subjects and a residential school in Session 2.
