Graduate Certificate in Commercial Law

The Graduate Certificate in Commercial Law is designed for business and public sector professionals who desire a broad knowledge of commercial law including taxation. The purpose of the course is to provide graduates with an understanding of key business law topics including contract law, liability in tort, business organisations, negotiable instruments, credit, corporations and securities law, business regulation, insolvency and taxation.

Professional recognition

The Graduate Certificate in Commercial Law is a subset of the Master of Accountancy degree. This degree satisfies the academic requirements of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants (ASCPA).

Admission criteria

Applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution or a qualification deemed to be equivalent. Applicants with other academic and/or professional qualifications and/or work experience acceptable to the University will be considered.

Course requirements

The course, which may be taken over two or three sessions, comprises two single subjects and one double subject.
