The course aims to: enhance and broaden the existing conceptual, practical and technical knowledge and skills gained from prior formal studies and relevant professional experience; develop the student's ability to contribute to the development of the organisation's policies and the effective implementation of such policies; provide students with an understanding of the financial management and other control systems that can be implemented in an organisation to ensure the effective and efficient utilisation of resources; provide students with an understanding of the legal environment in which public sector entities operate; and provide students with an appreciation of the contemporary public sector environment and the need for effective management structures, process and styles that are adaptive and responsive to changes in the environment.

Admission criteria

Applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution or a qualification deemed to be equivalent. Applicants with other academic and/or professional qualifications and/or work experience acceptable to the University will be considered.

Course requirements

Students must satisfactorily complete four eight (8) credit point subjects.
