This course is offered to both on shore (HECS funded) and overseas fee paying students. The course aims to provide graduates with an extensive knowledge of TESOL theory and practice. The course is designed (i) to provide a qualification in TESOL to graduates; and (ii) to extend existing knowledge and skills of those teachers with a significant background in TESOL.
The course will meet the needs of people employed in or wishing to be employed in educational settings that include learners of English as a second or subsequent language. The course is relevant to child, adolescent and adult ESL contexts in Australia and overseas.

Admission criteria
Applicants should hold a first degree, a recognised teaching qualification and must have completed one year of teaching; or be able to furnish evidence which demonstrates to the satisfaction of the Dean of the Faculty that equivalent requirements have been met.

Course requirements
To graduate, students must complete eight compulsory subjects (eight subject points each) to the value of 64 subject points.
Residential school
Students undertaking the on shore course will be required to attend residential schools related to subjects in the course.
