Admission criteria

The Honours program is available to applicants who have been awarded or who are eligible to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts from Charles Sturt University and, in certain circumstances, to applicants who have a comparable degree from this or another institution. Applicants will normally be required to have a major in their proposed Honours disciplinary area, and to have attained grades of credit or better in the second and third level subjects of the major (or to have what is deemed to be the equivalent from another institution).

Acceptance into the Honours program is subject to the approval of the discipline coordinator and is at the discretion of the Head of School in which the discipline is located.

Applicants for entry to Psychology Honours must have completed a major in psychology accredited by the Australian Psychological Society and have completed PSY301 Advanced Research Methods in Psychology or its equivalent with a grade of credit or better.

Course requirements

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete a minimum of 64 subject points.

Honours is offered in the disciplines of Art History, English, History, Philosophy, Psychology and Sociology.

*Psychology Honours subjects are coordinated from Bathurst. Students based in Wagga Wagga enrol in the distance education mode and attend compulsory residential schools. Students from Wagga Wagga receive tutorial support and may have their dissertation supervised by staff in Wagga Wagga.
