Course requirements
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 192 subject
points (normally equal to 24 subjects).
Course structure
The course consists of:
Nine subjects covering the communications field, basic
media writing and presentation skills, Australian studies, communication
theory and research, and an industry internship. The special Australian
studies subjects of politics, history and literature provide students
with the general context for later studies in their vocational
specialisations.
Six vocational strand subjects.
Subjects in industrial issues and media research.
Three communication elective subjects in an area of communication
study. Students may also choose electives from the humanities,
social sciences or commerce subjects.
Three elective subjects from humanities, social sciences,
commerce or sciences.
