Graduate Certificate (Television Production & Multimedia)

The Graduate Certificate provides the skills required to create and manage a multimedia production with strong links to television production from concept through to the final product .

This course is intended to provide knowledge and expertise for those whose future business, service or academic careers may involve television and multimedia production or the development of other related entertainment products.

Successful completion of this course affords the opportunity for graduates to apply for enrolment in the Master of Arts (Television Production & Multimedia) proposed for 1999.

The structure and mode of offering of the proposed certificate enables participants access from anywhere in Australia and overseas.

Admission requirements

Applicants must have completed an appropriate degree and have a demonstrated interest in video, television and multimedia production. Applicants with appropriate professional experience and standing, who do not have a degree, will also be considered.

The course requires that applicants have a basic understanding and familiarity with computers and software applications.

All applicants must have access to a multimedia compatible computer with a compatible University modem and access to electronic mail. Students will be required to purchase the relevant academic versions of prescribed multimedia software and texts.

Credit

There is no credit available for this Graduate Certificate. However, in some cases a student may apply to the Course Coordinator to substitute other subjects if they can demonstrate competence by virtue of previous studies in recognised award courses. Substitution does not reduce the number of subjects required to complete the course.

Course requirements

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 32 subject points.

Residential school

A three-day residential school for each subject will be held at the beginning of the session.
