Graduate Diploma of Information Technology (Information Systems)

This course aims to meet local and national demand for competent trained computing personnel, and expand educational opportunities for those educated outside major metropolitan centres.

The objective of the course is to provide graduates of disciplines other than computing with a sequence of subjects in information technology which will either:

  • ·assist them in carrying out their professional function in their chosen field of endeavour by providing skills in relevant areas of computing;
  • or

  • provide them with technical skills in computing which when coupled with their first degree and previous business or organisational experience, will enable them to take up a professional career in business computing.

    To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete a minimum of eight subjects (or 64 subject points).

  • Note: All the above subjects are four hour subjects. If some of the subject lectures are shared with three hour undergraduate subjects, the postgraduate students will be expected to do additional tutorial work and/or complete assignments at a higher level.
