The subject examines the abundance and distribution of bird populations and communities and discusses the influences on these, including phylogenetic, environmental and human factors. A key section of the subject examines the role of behavioural ecology in the conservation and management of avian diversity. Topics include analysis of abundance and distribution, including migration and nomadism, behavioural, population and community ecology and conservation biology of birds.
