This course is intended for serving police officers who are pursuing a career in investigation. It is specifically aimed at those officers who are undertaking, or have previously undertaken police service programs leading to detective designations such as the NSW Police Service's Detective Education Program.
The course aims to enhance the capabilities of the professional investigator. It aims to develop the existing knowledge and experience of practitioners by fostering critical reflection upon those ethical, legal and practical issues which impact on criminal investigation.

1-2 years distance education (2-3 sessions)
Spring Session
Applicants must either have successfully completed the Diploma of Policing, the Diploma of Applied Policing, or the equivalent, or have at least five years plain clothes experience.
Applicants must have completed or be undertaking the NSW Police Service's Detective Education Program or its equivalent in another jurisdiction.
The Bachelor of Policing (Investigations) requires the successful completion
of four core subjects with an additional fifth interviewing subject* for
those police officers who have not undertaken an appropriate interviewing
skills course.
Students admitted on the basis of plain clothes experience may be required
to complete up to three additional subjects.
To be eligible to graduate students must have completed, in addition to these requirements, the NSW Police Service's Detective Education Program or its equivalent.
