This advanced immunology subject considers aspects of immune function and dysfunction, particularly pathology in the immune system at the cellular and molecular level, as well as how immunological processes and techniques are used in the biotechnology and pharmacological fields. The aim of the subject is to provide students with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of immunology in the context of immune mediated diseases and the application of immunological principles in the development of new drugs, vaccines and medical and veterinary diagnostic tests.
