Enrolment Restriction: Admission to Master of Arts (Communication - Cultural Performance) or Grad Dip Cultural Event Management
Students who have successfully completed EDC502 are not eligible to enrol in this subject.
This subject examines Australian and international literatures concerned with, site specific cultural performance events. The application of critical theory and operational management perspectives will lead to the design of a cultural performance event, in a specific site, that is designed for targeted stakeholder audiences and clients. This study features online dialogues concerning literatures and case studies examining key issues for event design, production planning, and the management of special events. Candidates will conduct a site analysis and prepare a concept proposal. This proposal is further developed as a detailed production plan and presented as a project casebook, ready for implementation.
