This subject provides students with an overview of organisational structures and the diversity of managerial and leadership roles in early childhood services and schools. Principles of effective management and leadership are interrogated and the application of these to various contexts is explored. Awareness of relevant legislation, government policies and regulation is developed as are management functions and skills. Students have the opportunity to specialise in Studies of Australian Indigenous Education in this subject.
