Abstract

In this subject, students will progress towards planning and executing a research project with supported autonomy through further development of a full literature review, analysis of potential solutions, experimentation and initial analysis of results. Communication skills will be developed to present current progress in multiple formats.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to develop a solution for an identified research problem in the computing discipline that is current and significant;
  • be able to critically review, appraise and synthesise academic literature relevant to the chosen research problem;
  • be able to reflect on the research process and progress; and
  • be able to communicate effectively in ways appropriate to the discipline, audience and purpose.

Syllabus

The subject will cover the following topics:
Individual research project appropriate to prerequisite studies completed by the student and limited to the computing discipline.
