HRC418 Computing and Mathematics Honours Dissertation PT Part B (16)

In this subject, students will complete their planned Honours research. Students will be guided by their supervisor(s) to develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence as a researcher, particularly in relation to data analysis and interpretation. Through regular communication with their supervisor(s), students will have opportunities to reflect on their collected data, analyses, and interpretations to produce a completed research dissertation.

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to demonstrate knowledge of research methods and sound study design, including how study design can impact on the interpretation of data;
  • be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills of data analysis and interpretation;
  • be able to effectively communicate the rationale, method, and results of a research project via a research dissertation; and
  • be able to reflect on the impact of the research findings.

This subject will cover the following topics:
  • Analyse and interpret data
  • Draw conclusions from data analysis
  • Identify possible application of research findings to policy development and future research
  • Dissertation presentation
