INF443 Digital Curation and Preservation (8)

This subject explores digital and data curation and preservation from the point of creation through the lifecycle of description, use, storage, accessibility and understandability over time, to future usability and use. Digital information and data surround us in organisations and our personal lives. They are inherently impermanent due to their dependence on rapidly changing technology. The curation and preservation of digital information and data involves ensuring their usability and accessibility into the future. Curation and preservation also require new strategies, practices, tools and techniques and is a burgeoning area of employment.
