This subject provides an opportunity for enterprising students to formulate, evaluate and develop entrepreneurial ideas, projects and ventures. This subject integrates entrepreneurial theory and research with practical business/management knowledge, and is designed for prospective entrepreneurs to develop, launch and grow an entrepreneurial idea, project or venture. The subject explores social and commerical entrepreneurship, and addresses issues including bootstrapping, micro-enterprise, mini-preneurship, intrapreneurship as well as corporate entrepreneurship. The focus is on innovation and entrepreneurship in relation to both product and process, and is suitable for those working as individuals or within organisations.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

  • be able to identify and evaluate individual and organisational entrepreneurial opportunities;
  • be able to assess the value proposition of an entrepreneurial idea, project or venture;
  • be able to prepare and present an entrepreneurial venture plan and pitch; and
  • be able to recommend growth and/or harvest strategies for entrepreneurial projects or ventures.
