This subject provides an applied clinical context to a range of rheumatological and musculoskeletal conditions. Students will evaluate the role of the podiatrist in contributing to a client's health management plan, as a member of the broader interprofessional team.
Students will extend their knowledge of pain pathophysiology and will analyse a range of rheumatological and musculoskeletal pathologies. This subject will enable students to build on knowledge of client assessment and management, to consider the use of prescription and non-prescription drugs in musculoskeletal and rheumatology medicine. This subject contributes to the student's preparation for endorsement for scheduled medicines and progression towards competence in prescribing.
