This subject continues to develop critical thinking and decision-making. Communication strategies, customer service and victim care are reinforced to ensure an ongoing understanding of these critical areas in policing. They are extended to a wider range of offences and situations especially in investigations and domestic violence.
Another key area of policing to be considered is making sound ethical decisions. Decisions related to scrutiny, fairness and in compliance with legislation and NSW Police Force policies and procedures are addressed in policing scenarios. The NSW Police Force guidelines for professionalism are considered generally with a specific focus on domestic violence along with the lawful use of police discretion.
