Assumed Knowledge

Prior completion of or concurrent enrolment in PSY533 and PSY534. Students who do not satisfy these criteria are required to obtain the Course Directors approval prior to enrolling in this subject

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to demonstrate applied knowledge of theories of psychopathology;
  • be able to demonstrate proficiency in applied psychological assessment;
  • be able to demonstrate proficiency in diagnosis and case formulation;
  • be able to demonstrate proficiency in the delivery of evidence-based psychological interventions, and the conduct of appropriate evaluation of outcome;
  • be able to conduct practice in accordance with professional and ethical standards; and
  • be able to demonstrate competence in adopting an evidence - based approach to psychological practice through completion of an experimental single case report.

Syllabus

This subject will cover the following topics:
  • Undertaking a placement that will focus on clinical psychology skills in a practical setting
  • The design, implementation and communication of psychological interventions
