Key areas of clinical specialisation covered in this two year subject include: cultures and clinical practice, culture and behaviour, interpersonal issues in mood and anxiety disorders, the impact that clients' beliefs have on adherence and compliance with treatment, the impact that mental illness has upon parenting capacity, research methodology for applied settings, and advanced psychometric theory. Additional topics chosen by staff and students are examined through "on-line" seminar discussions. Students undertake an advanced placement in a clinical setting where they can combine both their clinical and research skills.
