SPH525 Integrating Competency for Entry Level Practice in Speech Pathology (8)

In this subject students develop and demonstrate competency in speech pathology practice as required by an Entry level speech pathologist. Students complete two key workplace learning experiences; the first is a 24 day workplace learning block in which students work with clinical educators to develop speech pathology knowledge, skills and attributes to Entry level as defined by professional standards. During the 24 day placement for this subject, students work with a different population (paediatric or adult) and in a different practice setting to SPH515 Integrating Speech Pathology Competency in the Workplace. In addition, students complete simulated and/or specialist clinical experiences at CSU, transferring their speech pathology competency across range of practice areas. Throughout these experiences, students continue to transfer their competency in professionalism, reasoning, communication and lifelong learning and demonstrate these as appropriate of an Entry level speech pathologist.
