What our staff say...
"CSU is a lifestyle offering that employees like me can relish. My job is challenging and enjoyable, and I actually have better career prospects now that I'm working for CSU in Wagga Wagga than I had working in the heart of Sydney CBD. More important to me is the improved work-life balance. I now spend less time commuting and more time at home with my family."

“Wagga Wagga has a refreshing sense of community and vibrancy that has long disappeared in many cities. CSU has offered me the chance to study and work on campus at the same time, which is a dream come true. I did not expect the warm welcome and abundance of opportunities that have presented themselves.”

"I think the culture here is very good. I think we do a lot better compared with a lot of other places; we are understanding and encouraging."

“I recently moved to Wagga from Montreal, Canada to continue my project in parasitology research. After spending five months in sub -15°C temperatures I am enjoying the warmth of the sun and the fresh country air.
I am a postdoctoral research scientist within the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences. My current research projects aim to understand the pathogenesis and biology of liver fluke which infect sheep and cattle, and to identify potential vaccine or drug targets to help control parasite infections.
“CSU a great place to start up a new parasitology research group as we are surrounded by nature and wildlife just teeming with parasites and you are also close enough to Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne to visit other labs doing similar research.
“If I were to take someone for a day trip in Wagga I would suggest we visit the CSU winery, looping around the campus to get the fabulous view from the top of the hill as we make our way to a cafe for a long luch and coffee, followed by a walk around Lake Albert or along the river in the afternoon.
“I look forward to celebrating my arrival back home to Australia and the potential of a fabulous new parasitology research group at CSU."

“The most rewarding thing about working at CSU would be the interaction with local and not so local students, being available to them as a resource to empower and encourage them on their journey towards becoming a professional pharmacist... Seeing them grow and develop as professionals was very rewarding and inspired me to consider a career in research and teaching. CSU’s regional campuses are unique. Due to financial and other constraints, many of the local students here would not have had the opportunity to study pharmacy, were it not offered in a regional facility like CSU. CSU provides a learning environment which is diverse, accessible and nurturing. By studying here, you will learn not only what your course has to offer, but you will experience an awakening of talents and skills you didn’t realise you had.”

“
The Wagga Wagga lifestyle is a winner. It’s all about quality of life and finding that balance between work and play. I moved here from Sydney and can’t say I miss the hectic, fast paced day-to-day living. Never underestimate how much more you can fit into your day when you don’t have to waste time in traffic! Everywhere is so accessible and when I need an injection of city life, it’s good to know Sydney is only an hour’s flight away.

“
I moved to Wagga from the Northern Territory in January this year as I was successful in applying for a job at the Uni in Recruitment in the Division of HR. I had never been to Wagga before but had heard that it was a fantastic town and it hasn’t let me down. I enjoy the weather, the River, the landscape and the people. I enjoy a Sunday breakfast, dining outside watching the world go by, I love walking along the river, casting a line and sometimes a swim with my dog, and I love the close access to the mountains for a weekend away. I enjoy my work - the ability to contribute and see results and I love the flexibility that CSU gives, so I can enjoy my work whilst enjoying the other parts of my life too. ”

“
I relocated to Wagga from Brisbane over 3 years ago and I have found the experience to be life changing. I love that I don’t have to commute hours to work and owning a home is more affordable than in the major cities. The days are longer in summer and I can enjoy the outdoors gardening, walking the dog, water skiing, and kayaking. I have a fabulous job recruiting international students to CSU and seeing the enjoyment students have when they experience the real Australia. Wagga is a brilliant place to live if you open your heart to it.
