How to Apply
Applying for a position at Charles Sturt University
- Check the University's Academic Staff Vacancies and/or General Staff Vacancies to determine whether there is a vacancy suited to your skills and qualifications.
- Read through the job outline, including the material in the essential links. You may also like to check the useful links.
- Download the Application Form linked to the position you wish to apply for.
- Complete the Application Form.
- Attach a description (preferably typed) of how you meet each of the selection criteria (both essential and desirable).
- Attach a current copy of your curriculum vitae. Applicants for academic positions should include a list of publications and research/consulting activities and a four page response to the teaching guidelines.
- Include a cover Letter.
Late applications will not be accepted without prior approval from the Division of Human Resources. DO NOT send your application to the Faculty or Division in which the position is located.
Appointment details
Appointment level will depend on qualifications and experience, with commencement salary being negotiable within the range. All positions are offered on a continuing basis unless otherwise specified. The University reserves the right not to make an appointment.
Submitting your application
Email to the address on the appropriate Application Form. Attachments should be in either Word for Windows Version 6.0 (.doc) or Rich Text Format (.rtf). Your application must reach the Division of Human Resources by 9.00am on the closing date.
Post to the address on the appropriate Application Form. Allow time to ensure your application reaches the Division of Human Resources by the closing date. Attach photocopies of your qualifications/academic transcripts. Please use one strong staple or a bulldog clip in the top left hand corner. Do not bind your application, or submit it in a folder, or use paperclips.
Fax to the number on the appropriate Application Form. Include a cover sheet that indicates the total number of pages in your fax. Your application must reach the Division of Human Resources by 9.00am on the closing date.
Hand deliver to the address on the appropriate Application Form by 9.00am on the closing date. Attach photocopies of your qualifications/academic transcripts. Application forms
Please choose from one of the options below:
Option 1 (preferred) If you have access to Microsoft Word Version 6.0 or later you can download an Application Form, type in the necessary details and save locally. You can then print the form or return it electronically via email attachment.
Option 2 If you have a browser or plugin capable of reading PDF documents you can download an Application Form, print and complete the form, and submit it with your application.
Option 3 If you don't have access to the above options you can download an Application Form in RTF format, print and complete the form, and submit it with your application. Please do not alter the appearance of the form.
