Meal plans & meal points

You have enough to worry about on campus - classes, study, work and extracurricular activity. Let us take away the stress of where your next meal is coming from and forget the hassle of shopping, cooking and cleaning.

Meal Plans offer you variety in dining with cycle menus offered across a range of popular food themes and styles. The extended trading hours for food areas in 2014 also offers opportunity to ‘beat the peak’ and plan dining around class times, also the option to catch up with mates in a central social space.

Benefits

Nutritious meals are guaranteed at the Central Dining facilities. A Meal Plan ensures that you have access to a range of nutritious meals.

Meal Plans offer significant discounts for students living on campus on meal credit claims. Increased hours in Central Dining areas means you won’t miss out on a meal because your lecture runs late or starts early. You eat at times that suit your schedule. Best of all, you have the security of knowing where your next meal is coming from.

Meals Credits are available for claim at Central Dining to students living in CSU accommodation and loaded at a $9 flat rate for all meals (includes GST). For all other staff and students Dining Hall prices are Breakfast $9, Lunch $10.50 and Dinner $12.50 (indicative pricing).

That’s a saving of $5 a day for quality prepared meals! Over a year your saving could exceed $700....now that’s a bargain.

Budgeting your Meal Points

Meal Points will vary depending on the accommodation package. The following PDF outlines the annual amount of Meal Points and contains a guide to assist you with budgeting. If you do not have an accommodation package with a meal plan can load credit to your CSU Card through the Cashier.

Using Your Meal Plan

Meal Credits

This feature allows you to exchange one Meal Credit swipe for a combo meal at all Central Dining outlets.

Meal Credits are added to your Student Card each week on a Monday in time for breakfast and must be used within that week expiring on Sunday evening after dinner. Meal Credits are non-refundable.

Flexi Points

Flexi Points are an internal currency to be used at any campus food and retail outlet including Central Dining. Flexi Points will not be accepted at Bars for alcohol purchases.

Half of your total Flexi Points are loaded onto your CSU Student Card at the beginning of each Session and will expire on the last day of each Session. They work like a bank debit card and each time you make a purchase it is subtracted from your Flexi Point account balance. One Flexi Point equals $1.00 and points are deducted in exact amounts (one cent increments).
