Wagga Wagga Main Campus AccommodationCharles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, offers a range of affordable on campus accommodation. With catered, semi catered and self-catered options, you'll find something to suit your lifestyle and budget.

Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga has two residential campuses.

Main Campus is located on the University grounds, approximately 10 kilometres north of the city of Wagga Wagga. The main campus has a variety of accommodation available on a catered, semi catered and self catered basis.

South Campus, is located in the city of Wagga Wagga, and is a residential campus only. South Campus accommodation is available on a self catered basis and is accessible by the University Bus Service.

Catered

This is available in the traditional Halls of Residence on the main campus. Rooms are fully carpeted, furnished with private telephone and data point for internet access, with communal facilities and common rooms. The buildings are heated and the common room has a TV, microwave and refrigerator.
Meals are offered in a central dining room. The University provides:

  • breakfast and dinner, Monday to Friday,
  • breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday.

Catered accommodation options:

  • Cottages - Eight fully furnished single study rooms with shared common kitchen, lounge, dining and bathroom. The Cottages contain full kitchen facilities and air-conditioning.
  • Stewards Halls - Four, single-storey buildings, fully heated and air conditioned. Fully furnished and carpeted single study bedrooms. Each building has a common room with TV, refrigerator, microwave and hot water urn.
  • Butler Halls - Three, two-storey buildings. Each building is centrally heated, fully furnished and carpeted with single study bedrooms. Carpeted common room with TV, refrigerator and microwave.
  • Bowen Hall and West Hall - Single study bedrooms. All are fully carpeted, furnished and heated. Both are two-storey buildings with open balconies. Again, each has a common room with TV, refrigerator and microwave.
  • Doman Hall - Single study bedrooms. Rooms are fully carpeted, furnished and heated. Doman has two common rooms with microwave, refrigerator and TV.

Self Catered

The Self-Catered areas are located both at Main and South Campuses. If you live in a self-catered residence we provide full kitchen facilities for you to prepare and cook your own meals. Alternatively, you can choose to buy meals in the University Dining Room. You will need to bring basic crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils, including those suitable for a microwave oven. All bedrooms are fitted with a private telephone and internet access.

Self-catered accommodation options:

  • Murrumbidgee Village - Ten two-storey 20 bedroom air-conditioned houses with common kitchen, lounge, dining and bathroom.
  • Cottages - Single storey eight bedroom air-conditioned houses with common kitchen, lounge, dining and bathroom.
  • Postgraduate Village - Cottage-style air-conditioned accommodation, intended for postgraduate, mature age or honours students, with common kitchen, lounge, dining and bathroom.
  • South Campus - Five large residential blocks, designed in a horseshoe shape with fully furnished, carpeted bedrooms (with a bar refrigerator in each room), communal kitchens (with stoves, microwaves, refrigerators and freezer space), common room, TV, pay-TV, toilets and showers.

Semi Catered

If you are staying in semi catered accommodation, your accommodation fees include a meal plan that covers up to four meals per teaching week.

With this flexible plan, you can use all your meals at once (with the option to purchase more if you need to) or you can spread the meals out over the entire session. Eligibility for meals under this plan extend only until the end of session. Meals which remain unclaimed at end of session are forfeited.

The Halls of Residence has a small number of facilities designed for students with disabilities. Contact Student Central for more details.

Transport

The University operates its own bus service seven days a week during the academic year, with reduced service over the weekends and during holidays. Travel within the campus is free; trips into town are $1.00. Students pay the driver each trip. Bus timetables are available from the Service Centre. These timetables also inform students of the route the bus takes within Wagga Wagga.

2013 Wagga Wagga Residences Fees

IMPORTANT NOTE: Prices and packages listed are 2013 fees and will be subject to change in 2014.

When choosing your accommodation, you will need to indicate whether you want exclusive access to your room during University holiday periods.

On campus accommodation at Wagga Wagga offers two different packages of stay for the year:

  • Package One: Access to your room in Session 1 & Session 2 excluding non-class periods (24 February - 2 November)
  • Package Two: Access to your room in Session 1 & Session 2 including non-class periods (24 February - 30 November)
