Student representative bodies are responsible for ensuring students have an independent voice at CSU.
Student representatives are there to ensure the students' perspective is heard within the University planning process and they are able to raise issues of concern that are identified by students.
Once you become a CSU student, you can contact the relevant campus SRC or Student Senate if you have an issue you wish to raise, or to enquire about becoming a member.
There are several student representative bodies at CSU.
Each CSU campus has a Student Representative Committee (SRC). These SRC's provide funding for student events, student clubs and student publications. The SRC's are also the representatives for student issues on individual campuses.
The Student Senate is the overarching body of the SRC's. It is the official voice of the student body at a University-wide level, and responsible for electing student representatives to sit on range of University Committees.
Students are also represented on most CSU Schools and Faculty Boards. Student Representatives attend committee meetings, and so they are familiar with how the University/Faculty/School is run, and are up to date on issues that are of concern to students.
Please note you must be an actively enrolled CSU student first to become involved with one of your campus SRC. To become a member of Senate you must be a member of one of the SRC's first.
If you want to find out more about your SRC or if you want to get involved then contact your campus SRC office.
