CSU provides short term financial assistance to help students continue their studies. Loans are offered for educational needs, or to provide emergency relief.
Standard loans are available to HECS-HELP funded Australian citizens who are currently enrolled at Charles Sturt University.

Loans are available for amounts of up to 5 times the full fortnightly Austudy/Youth Allowance and are repaid in instalments at your campus cashier.
If you require a short-term loan for essential items or expenses such as food, emergency accommodation or expenses associated with medical or family crisis, and where the money is required urgently (i.e. within one working day), an Emergency Loan may be an option.
All students enrolled in any course or subject at CSU is eligible to apply for an Emergency Loan. These loans are subject to approval by the Director, Student Services.
