Health promotion services

Health information sessions are held on campuses during lunch breaks or prearranged evening sessions. All sessions are advertised via campus newspapers, radio, forums and posters throughout campuses.

Students can also use a website to gain access to health information including community contacts and reliable medical websites.

Specific areas of health promotion focus include

  • drug and alcohol awareness
  • sexual health
  • mental health

Counselling

A free and confidential service available to all students includes

  • Assistance with personal concerns
  • Assistance with academic and administrative problems
  • Referrals to community groups
  • Assistance with stress, assertiveness and exam anxiety
  • Workshops on a variety of topics
  • Assistance with depression, loss and grief, abuse issues, family conflicts, relationships etc.
