How to apply

Step 1 - Find a subject

Find a subject and note the following pieces of information which you will need to complete your application:

  • subject code
  • subject name
  • on campus location (if required)
  • mode (either on campus or distance education)
  • session available

Step 2 - Complete an application

Apply Online
Select Applicant Type 12. Single Subject Study and enter one of the following admission codes in the Planned Course of Study section.

  • SSYW - Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen
  • JSYW - International Applicant 

Nominate the subjects you would like to study in the Additional Information section of your application.

Applying online is the preferred method. If you are unable to apply online, you can download an Application for Admission form [PDF].

Step 3 - Supporting documentation

In most cases you will not need to provide suporting documents for single subject study. However, if you have not studied at CSU before and the subject you have nominated has prerequisite study requirements, you will need to provide a verified copy of your academic transcript. If you were not born in Australia but you are an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident, you will also need to provide evidence of your citizenship/residency. You may also need to show evidence to meet CSU's English Language Proficiency Requirements.

You can upload your supporting documents with your online application. If you are using a downloaded paper application form, attach your transcript to the application.

Tuition fees

Tuition fees for the Single Subject Study program are charged per subject and are the same cost for on campus or distance education study.
