Arts and Theology

PaCT Fellow Rev Dr Rod Pattenden has recently completed a six month art installation series at Adamstown NSW which explores the interactions that occur in placing contemporary art into a worship space. This innovative project created a lively conversation between artists, the art networks of Newcastle region and the words and actions of a liturgical community. A 36 page full colour catalogue is in production and the series is reviewed through a short video produced by John Cliff, that looks at each of the artist contributions.

Rod Pattenden has also been involved in setting up an Arts and Theology blog site that is providing a platform for interaction between theology and art practitioners in a variety of mediums. It is hoped that this will provide a forum for future events, conferences and publications. Rod would be interested to hear from potential contributors to this project or future publication opportunities in the arts and theology.
