Mehmet Ozalp receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Congratulations to PaCT Fellow Mehmet Ozalp who has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Australian Muslim Achievemnt Awards (AMAA).

The award was given to Dr Ozalp on the 18 November at the Grand Royale in Granville. In giving him this award, the Australian Muslim Achievement Awards said:

'Mehmet has been active within the Australian Muslim community for over 27 years. He has been intensely involved in social, cultural and religious community work and service since 1991 with an impressive educational and professional background and continues to serve with excellence in these capacities. Mehmet has extensive learning and teaching history in Islamic Studies spanning from 1992 to present and was instrumental in starting ISRA Australia. His extensive background will be conveyed this Sunday at the Australian Muslim Achievement Awards 2018. Congratulations Mehmet!

The AMAA attempt to raise the profile of Australian Muslim individuals and organisations, promote their achievements and prominence in the Australian society and encourage Australian Muslims to participate and excel in areas within the Australian Community.

Dr Ozalp is also the Director of the Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisations, a partnership between Charles Sturt University and ISRA Australia.
