Quantitative Consulting Unit

The aim of the Quantitative Consulting Unit (QCU) at Charles Sturt University is to assist in providing mathematical, statistical & information technology support for research groups, academic staff and postgraduate students across the University.

Course Related

Gaining skills and advice in quantitative methods and statistics is important for many CSU research students and academic staff. In addition to drawing on the statistical and methodological skills of the supervisory team and other CSU academics, there are a number of mechanisms through which research students and academic staff can gain skills and advice in these areas. These are:

Enrol in Research Methods and Statistics Subjects offered by the Faculties. HDR students are able to enrol in two subjects during the first 2 years FT or 4 years PT of their degree. Academic Staff are able to audit subjects with permission of the lecturer.

Sage Research Methods Online (SRMO)

Sage Research Methods Online (SRMO) -SRMO is an online research tool that should be of interest to anyone engaged in qualitative or quantitative research. It includes a comprehensive collection of full text resources that introduce a variety of research methods; it can assist in the selection and application of different research methods.

Australian Consortium for Social and Political Research Incorporated

CSU is a member of Australian Consortium for Social and Political Research Incorporated (ACSPRI) who offer week long courses in a variety of research methods/statistics. Research Students are able to fund attendance at these workshops using their resource funding. Academic Staff can use consultancy funds or request funding support from Heads of School or from the Research Office.
