Research support

CSU is committed to facilitating a positive learning environment for research students and focuses its energies towards increasing Higher Degree Research Student (HDRS) completions.

“My research at CSU put me in a good position to research and manage populations of threatened species on the Chatham Islands. Working in New Zealand was an amazing experience.  My fieldwork required me to climb mountains, live in an igloo on top of a cloud forest mountain top and also spend much time at sea observing the birds’ behaviour from the back of fishing boats.”

Adam Bester, PhD Graduate

"It is imperative that research students are supported through meaningful networks, mentoring and career opportunities. CSU stands out as a very supportive environment in which to work. There is a good spirit of collegiality here."
