The Research Directorate includes the Research Office, Spatial Analysis Unit (SPAN) and CSU Regional Archives and University Art Collection.

A key focus of my position is to lead the efforts of the Research Office in facilitating the research and research education activities of the University. These activities include enhancement of links between research funding agencies and staff, provision of development programs for staff and research students at all career/candidature stages, management, analysis and reporting of research performance data.  I maintain an overview of policy, process and administration relating to research and research higher degree students, driving reviews and reforms as required. 

This position also work closely with the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research to provide provide strategic advice and input into planning processes that enhance the development of the University's research profile and assist in the establishment of strategic partnerships, identification and development of significant research opportunities and facilitation of commercialisation opportunities.

I am an experienced researcher and research supervisor who first joined CSU in 2001 as a Lecturer in Chemistry.  Since then I have held a number of leadership roles within the University, including as Sub Dean Research, Faculty of Science & Agriculture, Acting Head, School of Science & Technology and more recently as Associate Dean for the Faculty of Science.  My formal qualifications include Bachelor of Science (Hons I) and PhD in Physical Chemistry from Monash University, Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching and Master of Business Administration from Charles Sturt University.

Stemming from long involvement in research management at CSU, I moved across to the Research Office in April 2010 to provide a new vision and improved academic interface for research and research education support services at CSU.
