Deputy-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research)
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of research and research training at Charles Sturt University. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) is a member of the Senior Executive Group of the University.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) is Head of the Centre for Research and Graduate Training. The Centre has 13 staff and assists and supports academic staff and research higher degree students. It aims to enhance CSU's Research performance, profile and culture, to facilitate a positive learning experience for research students leading to successful completions and to oversee consultancies, commercialisation, intellectual property and outside profession activity.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) works closely with Academic Senate, the Faculties and relevant Divisions in the development and implementation of of a University wide research and research training strategy which is responsive to Government policy and directions including preparation and implementation of the University's Research and Research Training Management Plan. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) is the presiding officer of the Research Management Committee, Board of Graduate Studies and Intellectual Property and OPA Committee.
Charles Sturt University (CSU) shares the long established commitment of universities to international collaboration in teaching and research; to participation in international scholarly communities; to open scholarly discourse and the exchange of ideas.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), in conjunction with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) holds responsibility for developing, monitoring, reviewing and reporting on Charles Sturt University's International Education Strategy.
The development of strategic international research collaborations, participation in international scholarly networks and increasing the number of international research higher degree students are key areas of focus for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) portfolio.
