It involves acting in the right spirit, out of an abiding respect and concern for one’s fellow creatures”. The National Statement is not a list of rules, rather it provides guidance on ways to consider ethical issues related to human research.
Human research undertaken at CSU, whether it be interviewing rural small business holders, testing psychological theory with an online questionnaire, observing classroom behaviour, measuring muscle responses to fitness training, product testing in a shopping mall is required to consider the ethical considerations raised in the National Statement.
