Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research)

Professor Sue Thomas was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) in August 2009. Prior to joining Charles Sturt University, Professor Thomas was Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of Canberra and her professional career has spanned appointments at Princeton University in the USA, the Medical Research Council in the UK and Flinders University in Adelaide.

Professor Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours and a PhD in non-clinical Microbiology from La Trobe University, in addition to a Master of Business Administration (Technology Management) from Deakin University/APESMA, and a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education from Flinders University.

Professor Thomas is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of research and research training at CSU, this includes the governance of nine Research Centres, the Research Office, CSU Regional Archives and the Spatial Analysis Unit.
