The E H Graham Centre for Agricultural Innovation is an alliance between New South Wales Department of Primary Industries and Charles Sturt University established to develop collaborative and multidiscipline research with key partners addressing the challenges of climate change, water scarcity, food security, bio-security and a skills shortage.

Vision for the future - Adapting to climate change

By 2015 the Graham Centre will be the national centre of research and education excellence and innovation for developing productive and efficient agricultural systems combined with environmental conservation. Students graduating from the Centre will be regarded as amongst the best graduates in Australia and overseas. The activities of the Centre will result in healthy agricultural landscapes with a patchwork of diverse enterprises, vibrant and resilient rural communities and unique opportunities for future generations.

A long history of agricultural research

Edgar Hugh Graham (1897-1957)The E H Graham Centre for Agricultural Innovation was established in 2005 and is named after the late Edgar Hugh Graham (1897-1957), affectionately known as "Eddie" Graham. He was the longest serving NSW Minister for Agriculture and held the regional seat of Wagga Wagga from 1941 until his suddent death in office in 1957. He is still respected for his pioneering role in developing rural policies and education. He opened the Department of Agriculture Wheat Research Institute in 1950 and the Agricultural Research Institute in 1954. Read more
