Significant progress has been made over the past 18 months in this ACIAR funded project. This special seminar will highlight the recent adventures of four of our undergraduate Animal and Veterinary Science students as they encountered the challenges of working in a very different dairy environment.

This presentation coincides with the visit of 11 of Pakistan’s most outstanding young nutritionists who are currently working with Graham Centre staff for two weeks, learning the finer points of forage conservation and feeding cows.

  • Rhys Duncan (Vet Sc 4) – Feeding the lactating cow on smallholder dairies in Pakistan
  • Emma Hand (Anim Sc 2) – Small-holder dairy farms: the role of the extension worker
  • Shahid Khalfan (Vet Sc 3) – Improving reproductive efficiency on small holder farms
  • Amanda- Lee Charman ( Vet Sc 3) Improving calf management in the small-holder dairy herd
