Bio-economic/financial analyses comparing results for mixed farming systems

Bio-economic/financial analyses comparing results for mixed farming systems

Date :  Monday, 18 October 2010
Time :  1.00pm
Venue : Meeting Room, Wagga Wagga Agricultural Institute
Presenter : Tim Hutchings, PhD Student, School of Agricultural & Wine Sciences

Tim Hutchings will present new bio-economic/financial analyses comparing results for mixed farming systems (30 and 60% cropping) vs 100% cropping. His risk analyses consider weather/yield variations (in decades sampled from the 1920 to 2010 period) and price variations to compare the systems on the basis of "cumulative whole farm cash flow" distributions. Results are presented for four contrasting locations (Riverina, SW Slopes, Mallee and Western Victoria).
