Student Internships - Research Experience Scheme 2006

The E H Graham Centre for Agricultural Innovation is introducing a Research Experience Scheme which offers a number of Student Internships (to the value of $4,000 each) to encourage students to engage in research activities.

Students enrolled in a degree course at CSU in 2006 are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to students who are nearing completion of their degree and can demonstrate a high level of academic achievement. It is desirable that the students have a strong interest in and commitment to research in agriculture and/or food science and related fields.

There are two ways in which an internship can be undertaken (preferred option is to be specified at the time of application):

Option 1:
Students would spend up to one day (eight hours) per week, during semester, working with team members within a program (NB: team must include both CSU and DPI staff). The student would be involved in a number of projects over the year to give them an appreciation of the type of research done and a familiarity with the staff in the program. The student could also use this work to satisfy their workplace commitments for their degree.

Option 2:
Students would spend a period of ten weeks working on a single project supervised by an E H Graham Centre member.

To apply for a Student Internship for 2006, please download an Application Form and submit to Maree Crowley, Centre Coordinator, mcrowley@csu.edu.au.

Prior to submission, students should discuss their applications with their intended supervisor(s), where applicable.

Applications close Friday 18 November 2005.
