'Rainfall in the Riverina' describes 100 years of rainfall

At our recent Open Day the E H Graham Centre was proud to announce the launch of a publication produced by Kerry Wratten of NSW DPI entitled 'Rainfall in the Riverina'.

The publication, which is free, is an easy to read reference on the rainfall history of the last 100 years in the Riverina, from Hay to Tumut and from Henty to Young, and would be of interest to a range of audiences. For example, information on the instruments used to measure weather conditions would be of interest to school students, seasonal patterns in rainfall would be of interest to farmers, and accounts of extremely wet and dry years would be of anyone with an interest in the changing climate of our region.

The publication illustrates how variable extreme weather patterns can be across the Riverina, and serves to highlight the importance of long-term weather monitoring for understanding the climate of the region.
