E H Graham Centre supports upcoming forum on the use of domestic waste in agriculture
A free forum is to be held at Charles Sturt University on the use of domestic waste as an organic input in agriculture. The forum, which is sponsored by the Graham Centre and Wagga Wagga City Council, will develop a project to determine the value of processed domestic waste in agricultural systems.
The 'Downunder' project, as it is known, is unique in Australian contexts in its aim to value-add to agriculture through organic waste collection and processing. The forum will provide an opportunity to discuss likely outcomes relating to soil structure, water use, soil biology and crop/animal yields, all within a regional ecological context.
The forum will be held at the Charles Sturt University Convention Centre on Monday, 27 March from 10:30 am - 4:00 pm. For more information contact Mike Reynolds on 02 6938 1989 or email michael.reynolds@dpi.nsw.gov.au.
