Participants herald the Graham Centre's Women's Information Exchange Day a success

On the 9th of May the E H Graham Centre hosted women from the Riverina and beyond at its inaugural Women's Information Exchange Day. Participants described the day, which included tours of Graham Centre facilities and a lively discussion of future collaborations, as 'entertaining, professional and very informative'.

The Women's Information Exchange Day began with an introduction to the Graham Centre by Director Professor Deirdre Lemerle, followed by a workshop on time management in a farming context. Participants were given a tour of Centre facilities, including the cereal laboratory of New South Wales Department of Primary Industries and the plant pathology laboratory of Charles Sturt University . To close the day, the role that the Graham Centre can play in facilitating the exchange and delivery of information to and throughout rural communities was discussed.

To gauge the success of the Women's Information Exchange Day participants were asked to complete a survey form. Overall, the comments indicated that the day was a highly positive and worthwhile experience. Participants enjoyed the opportunity to see agricultural research first-hand and several people commented that the day renewed their desire to get the most out of their local farming groups. Many indicated that they were looking forward to further interaction with the Graham Centre.
