2009 Agricultural Enrichment Day for High School students

This year's Agricultural Enrichment Day will be held on Monday 6th July 2009 and will be hosted by the Graham Centre. It will be held in Wagga Wagga at laboratories and lecture rooms at Charles Sturt University and NSW Department of Primary Industries.

The day is aimed at giving students access to some of the state's leading agricultural and veterinary scientists.

Students in Years 10 and 11 will attend from Barham Central School, Billabong Central School, Riverina Anglican College, Kooringal High School, Griffith High School, Finley High School, Murrumburrah High School, St Paul's Walla Walla and Wagga Wagga High School. It is hoped the day will inspire the students to consider a career in one of the many jobs agriculture can offer.

The activities for the day include: "Entomology" with Jo Holloway (NSW DPI), "Cereal Chemistry" with Helen Taylor (NSW DPI), "Supermarket Botany" with John Harper (SAWS), "Cloning Smelly Plants" with Nigel Urwin (SAVS), "Meet your Meat" with Michael Friend (SAVS)
