Career Brief
After completing an Advanced Secretarial Diploma at the Metropolitan Business College in 1983, Maree worked as a stenographer with the Department of Industry and Commerce in Canberra before returning to Sydney where she was employed in a number of high level secretarial positions including Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive of the Australian Film Commission. After leaving the public sector in 1988, she spent the next three years in the construction industry, initially for the building of the multi-million dollar Pacific Bay Resort at Coffs Harbour, before relocating to Brisbane. She held several Executive Secretarial positions over the next 10 years in a variety of different industries, including four years with Australia's largest non-bank financial institution, CUA.
In 2003 Maree was appointed Centre Administrator at the Farrer Centre on the Wagga Wagga campus of Charles Sturt University. This led to her becoming closely involved in setting up the administrative office for what was to eventually become the EH Graham Centre for Agricultural Innovation.
As Administrative Officer, Maree has been involved with the Centre since it was formed in 2005. She works closely with the Director, researchers and staff and is responsible for the day to day administrative operations including managing the Centre’s budget and Internal Grants Scheme, as well as project administration and internal communication. She embraces the opportunity to nurture the relationship between alliance partners, CSU and DPI, and will continue her commitment to providing assistance to the development of research excellence at the Graham Centre.
