Research
- Epidemiology of tapeworms, particularly the hydatid tapeworm (Echinococcus granulosus)
- Role of wildlife reservoirs in parasite transmission.
- Immunodiagnosis of tapeworm infections in wild and domestic canids
- Biology of wild canids (dingoes)
- How livestock guarding dogs inter-react with the stock they guard and the wildlife (especially dingoes, foxes and feral cats) living in the vicinity.
Current research project title:
"Mapping the distribution of Echinococcus granulosus (and other intestinal Helminths) inrural, semi rural and suburban domestic dogs in south eastern Australia ".
This study is funded by an educational grant from Novartis Animal Health P/L
