PhD Scholarships 2009 - Institute for Land, Water and Society
Charles Sturt University ’s Institute for Land, Water and Society (ILWS) is offering two scholarships* to undertake a full-time postgraduate research degree in an area that aligns with the Institute’s mission and in particular with the three major integration programs:
- Demographic change in rural Australia
- Sustainable management of environmental assets
- Vibrant rural and regional communities
The ILWS is undertaking research under the broad context of these themes, drawing together researchers from different disciplines and partner organisations. Details on the programs can be found at http://www.csu.edu.au/research/ilws/research /intprograms.htm
We seek expressions of interest from prospective postgraduate students to undertake research into socio-economic, socio-cultural and/or ecological issues associated with ILWS programs. Projects need not be multi or interdisciplinary, but proposals that encompass integrated approaches will be viewed favourably.
The proposed project should contribute to ILWS’s internationally recognised research programs which emphasise collaborations with industry and community stakeholders. You are encouraged to contact researchers in the Institute to discuss potential projects. Alternatively, a range of possible projects together with potential supervisor contact information can be found at: http://www.csu.edu.au/research/ilws/about/postgraduates.htm
Expressions of Interest close on the 1 st of November, 2008 .
